Chanute Business and Professional Women met Wednesday, Dec. 11, for their regular meeting and Christmas party. Sharon Carpenter was hostess and provided food from Domino’s. Members played the game Right, Left and Center a dice game.
The speaker for the evening canceled due to illness. Sharon provided a gift of a place mat, cookie mix, cookie cutter and a utensil for each member. Kathy Williams gave each member a fragrance mist/body lotion set as well as a soft baby doll for Prestyn. A signup sheet was passed for members to choose what month in 2025 they would host. Nancy Kernick won the door prize of cup, cocoa mix, marshmallows and chocolate stirring spoons.
Nancy shared pictures of her granddaughter who will graduate from a college in Texas on Dec. 13. She also showed a rodeo belt buckle that her son Greg collects. Greg is at the National Rodeo Finals in Las Vegas.
State BPW scholarship applications can be found on the website bpwkansas.weebly.com. The local deadline is Dec. 31 for time to review them and send on to state. They can be given to Sharon Carpenter at 701 Osa Martin Blvd. Room 19, Chanute, KS, 66720.
The next meeting is scheduled for Jan. 8 at 5:15 p.m.
