ERIE — A Pittsburg man died from injuries suffered in a motorcycle accident Tuesday afternoon south of Erie.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, the accident happened at 1:38 p.m. Tuesday on U.S. 59 3.5 miles south of K-47.

A 2014 Victory motorcycle driven by Brandon M. Eastwood, 42, Pittsburg, was southbound on U.S. 59 passing another southbound vehicle. Eastwood lost control of the motorcycle as it re-entered the southbound lane. He was ejected from the bike and ended up in the ditch. The bike came to rest on the southbound shoulder.

Personnel pronounced Eastwood dead at the scene and his body was taken to Kansas for an autopsy, the KHP report said.

Eastwood wore eye protection but not a helmet, according to the KHP.
