Injury accident
A Liberal, Missouri, driver hydroplaned after passing another vehicle Saturday morning on K-47 east of Harper Road. The westbound car left the road on the north, struck a culvert and went airborne. The vehicle rolled and stopped at the fence line. The driver, Kevin Dyer, 56, was able to escape and the car caught fire. Thayer firefighters responded and extinguished the fire. According to the Neosho County Sheriff’s Office, Dyer was taken to Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center in Chanute and then flown to Wichita for further evaluation. Ray Nolting/ Tribune photo
