SparkWheel received a $3,000 grant from the Ash Grove Charitable Foundation to support Integrated Student Supports (ISS) for students and families in Chanute.
This funding will help SparkWheel continue its mission of removing barriers to success and providing tools and resources for students and their families. SparkWheel focuses on academic achievement, behavioral growth and social support to allow stu‑dents to thrive in and beyond the classroom.
The Ash Grove Charitable Foundation’s mission aligns with SparkWheel’s goals, as the Foundation is dedicated to building strong communities that flourish now and for future genera‑tions. As one of the largest cement companies in the U.S., Ash Grove prides itself on being a good neighbor in the communi‑ties it serves, prioritizing sustainable practices and investing in opportunities that challenge minds and strengthen connections, according to a release on the grant award.
“Last year, SparkWheel provided support services to 1,644 students in Chanute, with 183 receiving targeted, individual support,” said Noelle Haselhuhn, director of marketing and communications, SparkWheel. “We are proud to share that 88% of students improved their academics, 82% improved their behavior, and 100% of seniors graduated. This grant from Ash Grove will help us continue making a lasting impact in our community.”
