Traffic stop yields arrest
On Sunday Chanute police officers attempted a traffic stop near the intersection of 14th Street and Katy Avenue. After a brief pursuit the vehicle stopped south of the intersection at 21st Street and Katy. Officers spoke to persons involved and arrested Jacob Garcia, 34, Chanute, for possession of methamphetamine, possession of paraphernalia, fleeing or attempting to elude law enforcement and driving wile suspended.
Reports will be forwarded to Neosho County Attorney’s Office for review and consideration of charges being filed. All suspects are presumed innocent, unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
