St. Paul falls in Hutchinson

HUTCHINSON — Falling to 2-3 on the season, the St. Paul Indians lost to Hutchinson Central Christian, 52-6, on Friday night in Week 5.

St. Paul recorded the first touchdown of the game on a 59-yard pass from Preston Heitman to Jackson Beachner — that was the only score for the Indians.

Hutchinson Central Christian scored 22 points in the first quarter and went into halftime leading 38-6. 14 more points in the third quarter brought the game to an end.

Ry Kooiman led Hutch with 105 yards and two touchdowns on 10 rushes while Nathan Reed completed 7-of-10 passes for 120 yards and two scores.

St. Paul posted minus-26 yards rushing in the game while Heitman and Brec Norris combined for 79 passing yards on 4-of-8 passing.
