RICHMOND — Chanute runners raced at the Central Heights Invite cross country event on Thursday.
In the girls’ race, Prairie View’s Bree Allen won with a time of 18:50. Chanute’s Macie Moore placed sixth with a time of 21:15.
Violet Stich placed 17th for Chanute (23:02), Laney Hillmon 23rd (24:10) and Jarynn Hockett 26th (24:37).
Central Heights won the team standings in the girls race with 35 points, followed by Jayhawk-Linn (42) and Prairie View (45).
As for the boys’ race, Central Heights’ Cody Hammond won with a time of 15:38, besting the runner-up by 32 seconds.
Chanute’s Easton Colborn took third place, posting a time of 16:33. Jaron Powers was fifth (16:40), Tucker Applegate seventh (16:58), Joshua Schoenhofer 27th (19:33) and Mason Greve 41st (20:14).
Central Heights won the team standings with 34 points, followed by Shawnee Mission South (65), Chanute (70), Jayhawk- Linn (100), Iola (110), Crest (142) and Prairie View (158).
