Erie runners race at Columbus

COLUMBUS — Parsons’ Colten Carson continued his stellar cross country season at the Columbus Invitational on Tuesday. Runners from Erie were also among the racers.

Carson won the boys race, posting a time of 17:56 to win by three seconds over runner-up Spencer Wade of Northeast.

Erie’s Killian Hume placed 13th with a time of 19:47. Isaac Myers took 16th (20:00), Anthony Pasquarelli 31st (22:05), Arthur Pollreis 35th (22:19), Liam Smith 39th (22:56), Colt Corbett 48th (24:15) and Devon Westhoff 54th (28:49).

Southeast won the boys team standings with 52 points, followed by Pittsburg (57), Columbus (80), Frontenac (90), Erie (108), Riverton (121) and Neodesha 125th (125).

In the girls’ race, Frontenac’s Cera Schenk won with a time of 22:17. Erie’s Annie Myers placed 14th with a time of 25:12.

Frontenac won the girls team standings with 18 points, followed by Pittsburg (55) and St. Mary’s Colgan (65).
