Oh Hell Yeah Partners with Love Big Like Nate at Artist Alley

The 55th Annual Artist Alley in Chanute was not only a celebration of art and community but also a testament to the spirit of giving. One of the standout moments came from Barry Mathews, known online as BearTheVoice3, a TikTok influencer with over 1.2 million followers. Mathews was invited to Artist Alley by Steve and Sarah Cunningham, founders of the non-profit Love Big Like Nate, Inc., created in honor of their late son, Nate Cunningham.

Nate’s story is one of boundless compassion and heart. In January 2022, during his senior year of high school, Nate tragically passed away in his sleep from hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM)—a condition where his heart, both literally and metaphorically, was too big for the world to contain. Nate had a passion for helping others, from buying coats for the homeless to purchasing groceries for those in need. His philosophy was simple but profound: “Love big, baby, love big!” It’s this legacy that Love Big Like Nate, Inc. carries forward.

During Artist Alley, Mathews sold his signature Oh Hell Yeah Seasoning and served up pulled pork sandwiches at his booth, donating all net proceeds to the charity. The turnout was nothing short of amazing, with festival- goers rallying around the cause. As a result of the community’s support, Mathews proudly presented a check for $508.00 to Love Big Like Nate, Inc.

“I want to compliment the amazing people of Chanute,” Mathews said after the event. “Today’s turnout at my booth was simply incredible! Sales of my Oh Hell Yeah Seasoning and pulled pork sandwiches were phenomenal, and I’m thrilled to have been able to contribute to such an important cause.”

Steve and Sarah Cunningham continue to honor their son’s memory by helping others in the same way Nate did, with big hearts and an unwavering commitment to kindness. For Mathews, this was just the beginning. “I can’t wait till next year, and the next... and the next!” he added, expressing his excitement about returning to Chanute and continuing the partnership for future Artist Alley events.

This year’s Artist Alley not only brought art and community together but also showed the power of generosity. Thanks to partnerships like this one, Nate’s legacy of loving big continues to make a lasting impact on the world.
