Frank Eugene Tichenor, born on April 18, 1948, in Chanute, Kansas, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2024, in St. Augustine, Florida. He was a devoted husband to Cindy Ann Tichenor and a loving father to his son, Chris Tichenor, and daughter-in-law, May Tichenor.
Frank dedicated over 40 years of his life to the Kansas Department of Transportation, where he excelled in his role within the IT department. He was known for his strong work ethic and commitment to service, always embodying his favorite sayings: “Please, Thank You, Welcome.”
Frank was a proud grandfather to his grandchildren, Savanah Tichenor, Mikoh Tan, and Nica Jens, and cherished great-grandchildren, Justine Del Socorro and Teyan Jens. He is also survived by his sister, Bev Roecker, along with his nephew, Jason Roecker, and niece, Janice Shultz.
A man of faith, Frank gave his life to Jesus Christ and was baptized in April 2024, a testament to his deep spiritual beliefs. He enjoyed music, often finding joy in songs like “If tomorrow never comes”, “I Can Only Imagine” and “Unchained Melody.”
Frank’s legacy of love, kindness, and dedication will forever be remembered by his family and friends.
Service will be held at Countryside Funeral Home, Chanute, KS on Tuesday October 1st , at 11:00AM.
