On Sunday, September 22 members of High Prairie Pioneers 4-H Club observed 4-H Sunday by attending services at the High Prairie Methodist Church. During the service each member introduced themselves and gave their favorite project. For special music Oliver Bilby played a piano solo and Tinselle Francis sang a solo. The club members and families joined the congregation afterwards for brunch. Following brunch, the club held its regular meeting.
President Tatum Francis called to order the September meeting of the High Prairie Pioneers 4-H Club. Flag leader Jones Bilby led the club in the flag salute and the 4-H pledge. Secretary Delanie Stich read the minutes from the August meeting. Roll call was “What subject do you like in school?” and was answered by 19 members and 3 leaders. Song leader Chloe Kuhn led the club in singing “Row, Row, Row your Boat”.
Treasurer Gabe Engelman gave the treasurer’s report and Reporter Hunter Reaves read the Reporters report. Leader Kimberly Francis reported that the major points from the 4-H Council meeting was for members to remember to send Thank You notes to their fair supporters, that the 4-H Achievement Banquet is November 9 and that our club is in charge of it this year.
Leader Andrew Engelman reminded members that record books are due October 1 in the Extension office and that the new 4-H year starts in October and to be thinking about what they want to enroll in for the new year. Leader Kimberly Francis thanked all of the members for the good job they did at 4-H Sunday.
There was no old business. In new business a bill was presented to the club and a check for the club’s entries at the fair was presented. The club voted to have the October meeting at the Andrew and Lisa Engelman home with a hayrack ride. Officer elections for the coming year were held. Election results were as follows: President-Tatum Francis; Vice President-Garrett Engelman; Secretary-Delanie Stich; Treasurer-Gabe Engelman; Reporter-Hunter Reaves; Historian-Addilyn Kuhn; Parliamentarian-Oliver Bilby; 4-H Council Representatives- Tatum Francis, Garrett Engelman, Delanie Stich, Tinselle Francis (Alt.), and Oliver Bilby (Alt.); Recreation Leaders-Timbrel Francis, Tinselle Francis and Caleb Kuhn; Song Leaders- Arlee Kuhn, Cheyanne Gloshen and Locklynn Vest; Flag Leaders-Dawson Stich, Jones Bilby and Sapherya Kuhn.
The members discussed the club float for the Buffalo Homecoming and picked a theme for the 4-H Achievement Banquet. Vice-President Garrett Engelman announced the program. Hunter Reaves gave a talk on his Horticulture project and the importance of saving the informational tags that come with plants to know how to care for them.
Recreation leader Dawson Stich led the club in playing “Capture the Flag”. Leader Kimberly Francis reminded the members that their record books are due October 1, officer training is November 10, and to sign up for talks and committees for next year after the meeting.
