A freshman at Humboldt High School is learning about photography to make it part of her future career someday. This week, Lizzie Black caught a photo of a bee, covered in pollen while stopping on a dandelion. Black said the photo was challenging to capture.
“I was walking outside looking for anything to take photos of and a bee flew past me and landed on a flower. The shot was fairly difficult because the bee would not stay still and flew away when I got close,” Black said.
Black said her favorite subjects are flowers.
“Photography is important because it really captures the art and beauty that we see on the daily and it allows us to freeze the moment and keep it forever,” Black said.
Black states that other challenges she has faced in photography include learning to tweak the camera settings to suit her needs, and ensuring she has good lighting.
“I enjoy being able to capture beautiful moments and scenes,” Black said. “And working alongside awesome people.”
