Heartland announces Future Foundations Scholarship recipients

GIRARD – Heartland Rural Electric Cooperative is proud to announce the recipients of the 2025 Future Foundations Scholarships. This program provides up to eight $1,000 scholarships to support students in Heartland-served homes who are pursuing careers in high-demand fields including nursing, teaching, and skilled trades.

The following students have been selected to receive a Future Foundations Scholarship: Korbyn Newberry, Columbus High School, electrical technology; Syler Schuberger, Columbus High School, construction management; Devon Westhoff, Erie High School, Nursing; Avery Stewart, Fort Scott High School, teaching; Tara Weller, Jayhawk-Linn High School, nursing; Mary Jane Britz, Prairie View High School, large animal veterinarian; Benton Stainbrook, Prairie View High School, automotive technology; and Colby Hueston, Uniontown High School, lineman.

“At Heartland, we believe in investing in the future of our communities,” said Mark Scheibe, Heartland CEO. “Our board of directors established this program to help empower students to pursue careers that will make a meaningful impact in our region.”
