First 2025 meeting for Chanute BPW

Chanute Business and Professional Women met on Wednesday, March 12, for their regular meeting with Kathy Williams as hostess. The January and February meetings were cancelled due to bad weather. Sharon Carpenter and Jen Brown shared information about the BPW Kansas Spring conference in Salina, which they attended with Tayah Williams.

Brown’s son Tayden Williams and wife, Lile Dean, were guest speakers for the Saturday evening banquet. Their presentation was about New Zealand, where Lile is from. They showed pictures of New Zealand and discussed some amusing things that happened during a trip they took there.

Pictures of their presentation and of the group attending can be found on Facebook. After the business meeting, Kathy presented a program relating to March being “Women’s Month.” She read from the book “Women Who Lead.”

The chapter she shared was written by Elizabeth Meigs, who is a friend of Kathy. It is titled “Empowered to Rise: Unlocking the Strength to Overcome and Thrive.” Beth is a transformational coach, author and founder of Elizabeth Inspires. Through her work she shares her journey of overcoming a traumatic brain injury. She has navigated life’s challenges by providing the transformative power of hope to help others.
