The Friends of Tri-Valley Foundation is preparing for the annual spring fundraiser, Boardwalk BBQ. The fundraiser will be held on Friday, April 4 at the SEK Impact Center in Chanute. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. with the event starting at 6 p.m.
Proceeds from the event will help the Friends of Tri-Valley Foundation continue its mission to improve the lives of local neighbors with intellectual or developmental disabilities. Money raised from past events has helped to build six homes, as well as acquire nine homes and one duplex in the communities of Buffalo, Chanute, Fort Scott, Humboldt, Iola, Neodesha, and Moline. Thanks to generous support, these houses are now home for 81 of our neighbors with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
“ Boardwalk BBQ is gearing up to be an exciting and fun event” stated Special Projects Coordinator Tricia Campbell. “Our goal is to raise $20,000 at this year’s event. We are excited to hold our event at SEK Impact Center once again. Something new for 2025 is the addition of entertainer Robbi Bell who will perform during the evening.”
The event will include silent and stretch auctions featuring items from local businesses. A live auction will feature items such as a trip to Breckenridge courtesy of Home Savings Bank, a recliner courtesy of Ruddick’s Furniture in Fort Scott, two nights for two in Nashville with a walking food tour of East Nashville, and three nights for two on the Vegas Strip, both courtesy of Monarch Cement Company.
Dinner will be provided by C & S Traveling Kitchen. Dave Petersen will serve as the evening’s emcee and Larry Holman will take event photos. Decorations are provided by Hitch & Hoedown Wedding & Party Rentals. Attendees will also receive a $40 gift certificate to Wellness Journey in Chanute. The Friends extend gratitude to sponsors including: Monarch Cement Company, Hofer & Hofer & Associates, Steve Faulkner Ford, IMA, Jarred, Gilmore & Phillips, Cardinal Drug, Ash Grove, and Cheney Witt Chapel. Tickets are $35 per person, $60 for a couple; and $225 for a table of eight. Sponsorships are still available. For more information, contact Tricia Campbell at 620-431-7655 or at [email protected].
