CHANUTE — Castaways Animal Shelter, a dedicated no-kill facility located at 21909 Harper Road, is reaching out to the community with exciting opportunities and important information. Under the leadership of Judy Parham, the shelter provides a safe haven for lost and abandoned animals, offering care, adoption services, and education on humane treatment and responsible pet ownership. The shelter also facilitates affordable spay/ neuter options.
To raise awareness and support, Castaways Animal Shelter is hosting a logo design contest. The winning logo, which should include both color and black-andwhite versions, will earn its designer $50. Entries can be mailed to PO Box 313, Chanute, KS 66720, or emailed to [email protected].
Additionally, the shelter will host a pet blessing session on October 5, 2024, with Father Daryl Stanford. Community members are encouraged to bring their pets for a special blessing, but all dogs must be leashed for safety.
