
LaVone Ida Kimble, 93, of Chanute peacefully passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2025, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
She was born on July 19, 1931, in Concordia to Efford and Mary (Kuhn) Neptune.
She married Harold Kimble on Sept. 27, 1952, in Wichita. She spent many years as a Murray Hill School cook.
A cherished member of the Otterbein Community Church of Chanute, she devoted herself to her faith, her church and her community. LaVone supported her local veterans as a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
She leaves behind her son, David (Sue) Kimble of Sherman, Texas; and her daughter, Karen (Robert) Wright of Walnut; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and her sister-in-law, Lucille Neptune of Wichita.
LaVone joins in internal rest her beloved husband; her parents; and her brother, Marvin. They will be remembered fondly and missed dearly.
A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25, at Memorial Park Cemetery in Chanute.
The family suggests memorials to the Otterbein Community Church of Chanute and these can be left with or mailed to the Wickham Family Funeral Home, 500 N. Forest Ave., Chanute.
