The Chanute High School girls varsity bowling team will defend their Class 4A regional title on Monday in Wichita. The boys will compete as well in Wichita. Pictured are (from left) Lovie Cosby, Emily Cunningham, Jaydin Clounch, Mattison Morgan, Emily Taylor, Cerena Kerr and Zoey Turner. The team regularly competes against larger schools from Classes 5A and 6A and has recorded six first-place finishes. Cosby finished the regular season with a 159 average, followed by Emily Cunningham at 154. Zoey Turner is the defending regional individual champ. The boys team includes Noah Frey, Drake Friederich, Jett Cosby, Shane Schoenhofer, Jacob Pierce and Josh Schoenhofer. The boys earned seven first place finishes this season. The team is led by senior Jett Cosby who finished the season with a 201 average and Josh Schoenhofer with a 188 average.
