Altoona woman dies in wreck

An Altoona woman died from injuries suffered in a two-vehicle accident east of Altoona.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, the accident happened at 10:35 a.m. Feb. 5 on K-47 four miles east of Altoona.

Leisa Snyder, 35, was driving a 2005 Saturn Ion westbound on K-47 and a 2025 International semi-tractor was eastbound. Snyder’s vehicle crossed the center line and struck the rear axle of the semi-tractor.

Snyder was pronounced dead at the accident scene. The semi driver, Dalano Hill, 35, of Decatur, Georgia, was not injured.

Hill, who was not injured, wore a seat belt and Snyder was not, the KHP reported.
