THAYER — The Neosho County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a cattle theft from New Year’s Eve or New Year’s Day near Thayer.
The sheriff’s office reports that the cattle were in a pasture at 10th Road and Ford Road in rural Thayer. Twenty- three black calves were reported to have been stolen. Calves should have a purple ear tag and a brand on the back leg of the letter M with a circle around it.
The cattle were valued at about $2,000 a head, or $40,000 to $46,000, according to the sheriff’s office.
