Evert Eugene Davis, 79, Chanute, died Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2010 at the Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center in Chanute.

Evert was born in Wichita on July 14, 1931, the son of Evert Eugene and Vivian Hooper Davis. He graduated from high school in Augusta.

He was united in marriage to Margie Grace in February 1954 in Dudman Springs, Mo. She survives, of the home.

Evert worked as a manager for Western Drilling Tool and Supply Company, Inc.

Along with his wife, Margie, he is survived by a sister, Joretta Duncan, Grove, Okla.; a sister-in-law, Bonnie Grace, Sarcoxie, Mo.; and other family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral will be 3 p.m. today, Oct. 15 at the Penwell-Gabel Gibson Chapel in Chanute.

The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 16 at the Housh-Goodwin Funeral Home in Sarcoxie, Mo. Burial will follow at the Dudman Springs Cemetery, Reeds, Mo.

Memorials in his name may be made to Cherry Street Youth Center and may be left with the funeral home.
