Lorieta H. Long, 80, Humboldt, died Monday, Sept. 6, 2010, at Pinecrest Nursing Home in Humboldt.
Lorieta was born March 10, 1930 on the family farm east of Humboldt, the daughter of Arthur and Lucile Daisy Bale Elliott.
On Oct. 4, 1947, Lorieta married Harvey Mueller in Iola, and they made their home in Humboldt. They had three children before they were divorced.
On June 30, 1978, Lorieta married Dr. Edward E. Long at Lindsborg, They made their home in Humboldt and he preceded her in death in October of 1993.
Lorieta was a member of the Humboldt United Methodist Church and was a housewife and homemaker.
Survivors include a son, Jim Mueller and wife, Pam, Moran; a daughter, Janie Hutson and husband, Larry, Humboldt; five sisters, Edna Mae Culp husband, Bill, of Petrolia, Hazel Robb and husband, John, Humboldt, Jean Lindsey and husband, Harold, Humboldt, Joan Snodgrass and husband, Bruce, Lawrence, and Judy Middendorf and husband, Jerry, Humboldt; six grandchildren, Jim Mueller, Anna Selden, Justin Mueller, Jennifer Mueller, Casey Dye and Nick Hutson; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, John Lee “Catfish” Mueller, a sister, Ruth Mueller, and an infant brother and sister.
Funeral will be 10 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 11 at the Humboldt United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Humboldt.
Visitation is 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at the church.
Memorials are suggested to Humboldt Historical Society and Museum and may be left .with the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapel of Iola.
