Ann Marie Myers, 74, Carthage, Mo., formerly of Chanute, died Friday, Aug. 27, 2010 at the McCune Brooks Hospital in Carthage.

Ann was born in Fredonia on March 21, 1936, the daughter of Ralph E. and Mavis D. Dozier Tomlinson. She graduated from Chanute High School in the Class of 1953 and attended Neosho County Junior College.

She was united in marriage to Vernon E. Myers on Nov. 7, 1954 in Chanute. They moved to Carthage in 2004. He survives.

Ann worked as a bookkeeper/accountant for a CPA firm and later worked at the SRS until her retirement.

Along with her husband, Vernon, Ann is survived by two daughters, Debbie DeLaTorre and Cindy Spilman, both of Chanute; a son, Kevin Myers, Olathe; five grandchildren, Skip Spilman, Wendy Weilert, Kelly Colter, Brent Myers and Mandi Myers; a great-granddaughter, Piper Weilert; a sister, Carol Swenson, Olathe; and a brother, Richard Tomlinson, Wichita..

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Lois Lindquist.

Funeral will be 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 2 at the Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel in Chanute. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorials in her name may be made to the American Cancer Society and may be left with the funeral home.
