Bobby L. Ledford, 75, and Sharon K. Ledford, 67, Walnut, were fatally injured in a automobile accident east of Chanute shortly before noon on Thursday, Aug.12, 2010.

Bobby was born April 28, 1935, in Clayton County, Ga., to Ernest L. and Lillie Mae Wesley Ledford. He grew up in Georgia and served in the U.S. Army in the mid 1950s. He worked as a truck driver for Consolidated Oil in Chanute and for Chanute Insurance Pool.

Sharon Ledford was born Dec. 27, 1942, in Galena, to Thomas R. and Elena M. Kelsey Hunt. She lived in various places in her early years.

They were members of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Hepler.

Survivors include a son, Thomas R. Ledford, Walnut; daughter, Joye Walker, Paragonah, Utah; six grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Bobby is also survived by a brother Ernest Ledford; and Sharon is also survived by four sisters, Elsie Ingram and Betty Bearden, both of Green Forest, Ark., Stella St. Lawrence, Las Vegas, Nev., and Virginia Ann Rozie, of Arizona.

Both were preceded in death by their parents.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 19 at the Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home in Girard. Burial will be in Mt. Moriah Cemetery north of Stark. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Online condolences may be left at www.wallfuneralservices.com
