Marsha Kay Smoot, 31, Chanute, died Sunday, August 8, 2010 at her home.

Marsha was born August 19, 1978, in Iola, the daughter of Melvin D. and Melinda L. Robb Smoot. She graduated from Iola High School in 1997. She worked as a certified nurse’s aid in area nursing homes until her health failed.

She was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church in Iola.

Survivors include her parents, Melvin and Melinda Smoot, Iola; a brother, Matthew Smoot, Humboldt; two nieces; grandparents Margaret Robb, Iola, and Don and Mary LaCrone, Gas; great grandparents Phil Butler, Iola, and Minnie Smoot, Salina.

Funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 12, at Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery in Iola.
