Brenda Kay Shue, 58, Neodesha, died Saturday, July 31, 2010 at Greenwood County Hospital in Eureka.

She was born Nov. 22, 1951 at Meza, Ariz., the daughter of Bobby Russell and Marlene Dory Russell. She grew up in the Sedan and Grenola area. She worked as an emergency dispatcher for Chautauqua and Wilson County and also as a librarian for the W.A. Rankin Library in Neodesha before becoming disabled.

Brenda was united in marriage to James Shue in Independence on Sept. 2, 1988. He survives, of the home.

Additional survivors include her mother, Marlene Tiger, Wichita; a son, Charles Phillips Chanute; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her father and two daughters Tanya Humphries and Michelle Kinkaide.

A graveside service under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Loran Fawcett Chapel will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 7, with inurnment at the Grenola Cemetery in Grenola. Friends may call to register at Penwell Gabel Loran Fawcett Chapel from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday and Friday.

The family has suggested memorial remembrances to American Cancer Society which may be left at the funeral home.
