Lloyd Waddell Carver, 85, Toledo, Ore., died July 12, 2010.

He was born to Bertie Jiles Carver and Alta Gentry Carver in Altoona on Dec. 13, 1924.

When living in Oregon, he enlisted in the Navy for World War II.

He and Elsie Southwell were married Dec. 5, 1947.

He started Lloyd’s Auto Service in August 1948 and was¬†a service station business owner for more than 50 years in Toledo. He was a member of Newport Nazarene Church.

Lloyd is survived by his wife, Elsie; sisters Mildred Marsh, Springfield, Ore., Doris Douglas, Chanute; foster son, Steve Atkinson, Gresham, Ore.; daughter LloyDene Westmark, Tillamook. Ore.; sons Lonnie Carver, Albany, Ore., Steven Carver, Eddyville, Ore.; eight grandchildren and four great- grandchildren.

Memorial service will be held Tuesday, July 20 at 2 p.m. at the Church of the Nazarene in Newport. Donations can be given to Hospice and the Gideon’s Bible Society.
