Agnes Pearman, 91, Iola, died Saturday, July 3, 2010, at Windsor Place Nursing Center in Iola, after a month of confined illness.
She was born Agnes Fern McIntyre on an Allen County farm in the Leanna community,on July 21, 1918 to George and Alice Thompson McIntyre. Agnes grew up on the family farm east of Humboldt, attended country schools and graduated from Humboldt High School in 1937.
On Sept. 7, 1938, Agnes married Richard Pearman in Yates Center. Agnes was a homemaker as well as a partner in life and business with her husband, hauling milk and home interior finishing in Iola and the surrounding area for many years.
She was active in the Fiddlers and Pickers for many years and served as an officer.
Survivors include her husband, of the home; nieces Betty Orcutt Becker and husband, Bob, Mission, and Doris Orcutt Baker and husband, Melvin, Humboldt; nephew Steve Orcutt and wife, Cecilia, Iola; their families and many loved ones.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Wilfred “Dick” McIntyre, sister, Velma Orcutt and nephews Junior, Harold, and Jerry McIntyre.
Visitation is 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola.
Funeral is 1:30 p.m. Thursday, July 8 at the chapel, with burial in Mount Hope Cemetery, Humboldt.
Memorials are suggested to Iola Senior Center Congregate Meal Site and may be left with the funeral home.
