After the death of her mother when Jackie was five years, she and her siblings were put in foster care homes. She came to live with Nina Olson Pace in Chanute at age 12 and attended Chanute schools until her senior year when she was enrolled in the Academy for Seventh Day Adventists, Enterprise. She graduated in 1948.
Jackie married John Bishop Guiou on August 13, 1951 in Fayetteville, Ark., and they made their home in Buffalo. Jackie was a housewife, and later ran the restaurant in the Guiou Trucking business. She retired after many years working in electronics building circuit boards.
In 1987 she and John moved to 801 W. Cherry, Chanute. John died from Alzheimer’s disease in 2002. On Sept. 5, 2005, Jackie married Robert D. Henderson. They lived at 1725 Village Drive, Topeka.
Survivors include Robert Henderson, spouse, of the home; three children, Debra Guiou Stufflebean, and husband, Michael, Topeka, Gwen Guiou Roseberry and husband, Marty, Chanute, Scott Guiou and wife, Becky, Chino Hills, Calif.; one sister, Vivian Heinrich and husband, Wes, Tigard, Ore.; one brother, Bob Weeks and wife, Janice, Chanute; eight grandchildren: Shelby Congdon Fry and Hope Congdon Koch, both of Topeka, Brooke Congdon, Lawrence, Matt Beardon and Lindzey Roseberry Thomas, both of Iola, Megan Roseberry, Chanute, Jared Tyler “J.T.” Guiou and Jordan Guiou, both of Chino Hills, Calif.; and four great-grandchildren, Lucas Koch, Madelyn Fry, Hunter Fry and Dylan Koch. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Verle Weeks and Jack Weeks.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 15 at Seventh Day Adventist Church, 909 W 14th Street, Chanute. Interment will follow at Buffalo Cemetery, Buffalo. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
