Alice L. Roecker, 92, Chanute, died Thursday, June 3, 2010 at Chanute Health Care Center.

Alice was born in rural Earlton on March 12, 1918, the daughter of William and Nettie Carter Roecker.

Alice retired from J.C. Penney as a bookkeeper with 40 years of service. She was member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.

Alice is survived by three nieces, Judy Snyder, Iola, Cathy Norris, Humboldt, and Patricia Branan, Little Rock, Wash.; three nephews, Dan Roecker, Chanute, Matt Roecker, Chanute, and Steve Roecker, Newton; two sisters-in-law, Eileen Roecker, Chanute, and Weltha Mae McGregor, Sedan; 16 great-nieces and great-nephews and 6 great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers, Louis Roecker, Herman Roecker, Bill Roecker and Joe Roecker.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 8 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery.

Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Monday at the church.

Memorials in her name may be made to St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and may be left with the funeral home.
