James Francis “Jim” Cooper, 63, Chanute, died November 19, 2008, at the Kansas Heart Hospital, Wichita.
He was born Jan. 20, 1945, in Thayer to Truman and Elizabeth Cooper. He attended Chanute Junior College and Pittsburg State University.
He married Mary Sue “Susie” Solf, Cooper, on Dec. 28, 1966, in Chanute. She survives.
He was former owner of The Shopper’s Guide.
Other survivors include a daughter, Amy Rasmussen, Lawrence; a son, Doug Cooper, Wichita; five grandchildren; and a sister, Martha Brennecke, Parsons.
Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at First Christian Church, Chanute, under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Gibson Chapel. Burial will be in Neosho County Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
