Ralph L. Mentzer, 68, Yates Center, died Friday, October 31, 2008, at his home.

He was born May 18, 1940, on Mentzer Farm in Woodson County to Harley and Winifred McCormick Mentzer. He graduated from Yates Center High School in 1958.

He owned and operated Mac Propane from 1979 until his retirement in 2002.

He was a member of Seventh-Day Adventist Church.

He married Beverley Angus on July 16, 1962, in California. She survives.

Other survivors include two daughters, Diane Mentzer, San Matco, Calif., and Janet Fillmore, Lenexa; a son, Richard Mentzer, Yates Center; six grandchildren; and a sister, Ruthann Laymon, Huntsville, Ala.

Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Campbell Funeral Home, Yates Center. Inurnment will follow at Yates Center Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
