Louis Matthew Kirchner, 96, Chanute, died Tuesday, October 14, 2008, at his home.
He was born May 21, 1912, in Brainard, Neb., to Matthew J. and Mary Kouma Kirchner.
He was a self-employed mechanic.
He married Kathleen Carpenter Ford on June 15, 1988, in Las Vegas, Nev. She survives.
Other survivors include a niece, Darlene Olsen, Yates Center; a great-niece, Kim Heslop; and a great-great-niece, Kilea Heslop.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Helen.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday at Penwell-Gabel Gibson Chapel in Chanute. Graveside service will be 3:30 p.m. Friday at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Omaha, Neb.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
