John Henry Lauber, 94, Fredonia, died Sunday, October 12, 2008, at Fredonia Regional Hospital.
He was born Oct. 20, 1913, in Yates Center to Henry and Anna Miller Lauber. He was raised by an aunt and uncle, Clara and Bruno Miller. He was a graduate of Yates Center High School.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He married Margaret Ruth Guenther on Nov. 27, 1945. She died Oct. 16, 1982.
He farmed and worked in construction.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews, Jerry Guenther, rural Benedict, and Susan Lauber Jones and Robert Lee Lauber, both of Illinois.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Tillie Jaeger and Carol Lauber; and two brothers, Edwin “Bud” Lauber and Tom Miller.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Yates Center Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Campbell Funeral Home, Yates Center.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
