Clara Francis Forst, 87, St. Paul, died Wednesday, September 24, 2008, at Prairie Mission Retirement Village.

She was born Aug. 10, 1921, at Marienthal to Mike and Elizabeth Greminger Palkowitsh and later attended Marienthal schools.

On Oct. 25, 1949, she and Urban F. Forst were married. He died Feb. 22, 1993.

She was employed at Living Skills Care Center as a kitchen aid in St. Paul.

She was a member of the St. Francis Catholic Church at St. Paul.

Survivors include three sons, Dennis Forst, Archie, Mo., Norbert “Lee” Forst, St. Paul, and Steven Forst, Rockville, Tenn.; two daughters, Patricia Burrows, Columbus, and Christine Emerson, Owasso, Okla.; 14 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Frank, John and Tony Palkowitsh; four sisters, Mary Louise and Juliane Palkowitsh, Lena Knobe and Anna Herman.

Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Francis Catholic Church. Burial will be in the St. Francis Cemetery under the direction of Carson-Wall Funeral Home, St. Paul.

A Daughter’s of Isabella Rosary will be recited at 3 p.m. Monday at the Prairie Mission Chapel; the casket will be returned to the funeral home following the Rosary. The Parish Rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Contributions to Prairie Mission Retirement Village may be left at the funeral home.
