Carin Dawn Britton, 52, Gillette, Wyo., died Thursday, September 18, 2008, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Tempe, Ariz., of a sudden illness.

She was born March 11, 1956, in Chanute to Elmer and Katherine Davis Pilgrim. She was raised and educated in the Chanute area.

She married Dale Britton on Nov. 11, 1977. He survives.

She owned and operated CND Services Inc., which tested water for methane companies.

Other survivors include a daughter, Sunny Britton; a granddaughter; a sister, Linda Anton; and two brothers, Alan and David Pilgrim.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Summer Britton; and her parents, Elmer and Katherine Davis.

A private cremation service was held in Tempe, Ariz. A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Friday at the Walker Funeral Home in Gillette, Wyo. Burial will follow in the Gillette-Mt. Pisgah Cemetery in the family plot.
