Virginia Ann Davis, 84, of Chanute, died Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013 at the Chanute Health Care Center.

Virginia was born in Hoyt on Oct. 22, 1928, the daughter of Lauren and Bernice Yeakley Holt. She graduated from Hoyt High School in 1946.

She was united in marriage to William W. Davis on Feb. 5, 1950 in Hoyt. He preceded her in death on Oct. 31, 2006.

Virginia was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Chanute.

She is survived by a daughter Susan Ponce and her husband, Chris, of Chanute; two sons, Rick W. Davis and his wife, ,Debbie of Branson, Mo., and Rhon L. Davis and his wife, Beth, of Topeka; seven grandchildren, Lindsey Haug and husband, Aaron, Kaitlyn Bridges and husband, Michael, Kristen Ponce, Cassie Ponce, Brianne Powell and husband, Andrew, Lauren Davis and Avery Davis; three great-grandchildren, Aiyana, Jenica, and Rylie; and a sister, Arlene Northup of Kansas City, Kan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband William, one brother, Bill Holt.

Funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday, March 2 at the First Baptist Church in Chanute. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Penwell-Gabel Gibson Chapel.

Memorials in her name may be made to Harry Hynes Hospice or First Baptist Church and may be left with the funeral home.
