Christy Kay Wiles Thomas, 36, of Independence, was found deceased on Feb. 6, 2013 after a house fire in Chanute.
Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be held at 6 p.m. this evening, Feb. 12, at the Thayer Christian Church, with the Pastor David Camp officiating under the direction of the Loran Fawcett Chapel in Neodesha.
The family has suggested memorials to a trust fund for her children that is set up at the Community National Bank in Independence, and contributions may be left at the funeral chapel.
Christy Kay Wiles Thomas was born April 20, 1976 in Neodesha, the daughter of Gary Alan and Sandra Kay Smedley Wiles. Christy grew up in the Chanute area and graduated from the Chanute High School in 1994. She worked at various fast food restaurants.
Survivors include one son, Zabadiah Campbell of Independence; a daughter, Torie Thomas of Cherokee; mother and stepfather Sandra and Russell Barker of Independence; father Gary Wiles of Chanute; maternal grandparents George and Leona Smedley of Thayer, paternal grandparents Robert and Verna Layton of Chanute.
