Lucille Helen Marsh, 91, of Paola, formerly of Chanute, died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013 at the North Point Skilled Nursing Center in Paola.
Lucille was born in Hallam, Neb. on Sept. 6, 1921, the daughter of William and Elsie Bollinger Mailhan. She graduated from Hallam High School and graduated from Business College in Lincoln, Neb.
She was united in marriage to Loren Marsh in Hallam. He preceded her in death on March 1, 1968.
Lucille retired from the Chanute Library where she worked for many years in the children’s section.
She volunteered for numerous agencies in Chanute, including being a kindergarten aide at Murray Hill Elementary School.
She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church for more than 50 years.
Lucille is survived by a son Melvin Marsh of Mission; a daughter, Charliss Marsh of Cleveland, Ohio; a grandson, Brent Marsh and his wife, Marcia, of Kansas City, Mo.; a granddaughter, Allyson Gray and her husband, Chris, of Leawood; and two great-grandchildren, Ella and Hudson Gray.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Loren, and two sisters, Fern Theasmeyer and Irene Bettenhausen.
She will be sorely missed by all her family and friends.
Cremation has taken place.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 16, 2013 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Chanute.
Memorials in her name may be made to Chanute Public Library and may be left with the funeral home.
