Herman Anderes, 68, of Erie, went to be with the Lord after a two-year battle with cancer on Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013 at Labette Health in Parsons. He was led to the Lord by Brother Pefley.

Herman was born in Fredonia on Jan. 13, 1945 the son of Melvin and Sylvia Pierce Anderes.He graduated from Midway High School in 1963. After graduation he married his high school sweetheart, Patty Graham, on April 3, 1965 in Fredonia.

Herman was the owner/operator of Anderes Trucking. He enjoyed fishing, tinkering on his farm, and spending time with his grandkids and brother, Larry.

Herman is survived by his wife, Patty, of the home; one son, Chad and Jeana Anderes of Chanute; one daughter, Kristy and Eric Pauls of Emporia; four grandchildren, Jaxson Anderes, and Braxton, Hayden and Quincey Pauls; his mother, Sylvia Anderes of Neodesha; and two sisters, Darlene and Clarence North of Fredonia, and Linda and Aron Martin of Neodesha. 

He was preceded in death by his father; one son, Herman Anderes, Jr.; two brothers, Marvin and Larry Anderes; and his in-laws Sam and Iva Graham.

The family will receive friends this evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Penwell-Gabel Gibson Chapel.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2 at the First Baptist Church – Good News Center. Burial will follow in the Fredonia City Cemetery.

Memorials in his name may be made to the Faith Bible Church and Galesburg Relief Fund and may be left with the funeral home.
