Nellie May Tomlinson Bartlett, 93, of Olathe, formerly of Humboldt and Iola, died Friday, Dec. 21, 2012 at the Pinnacle Ridge Nursing Home in Olathe.
May was born in Woodson County on Feb. 9, 1919, the daughter of Fred and Rose Hibbs Churchill. She attended schools in Woodson County.
She was married to Johnie Tomlinson in 1937. He preceded her in death on Jan. 3, 1975. She later married Kenneth Bartlett. He also preceded her in death.
May worked on the assembly line for the IMP Boat Plant in Iola for more than 24 years.
She enjoyed cooking and sewing and spending time with her family.
May is survived by two daughters, Deana Gardner and her husband, Al, of Moran, and Janice Brown and her husband, Bob, of Olathe; one son, Bruce Tomlinson and his wife, Linda, of Minneola; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands Johnie and Kenneth, a son, Harold Leon Tomlinson, two sisters, Wilma Schoepflin and Shirley Mynatt, and a brother, Fred Churchill.
Funeral will be at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 27 at the Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home in Humboldt. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at 11 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
Memorials in her name may be made to Pinnacle Ridge Nursing and Rehab Center, Olathe, and may be left with the funeral home.
