Betty V. Greve, 74, of Erie, died Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012 at her home.
Betty was born in Oroville, Calif., on Feb. 6, 1938, the daughter of Robert C. and Betty V. Allred Greer. She graduated from Altoona High School in May 1956.
She was united in marriage to George M. Greve, Jr. on June 1, 1956 in Neodesha. He survives, of the home. Betty was a homemaker. She was a member of the Red Hat Club and the Wilson Avenue Church.
Along with her husband George, she is survived by her children, Venita Sue and Dale DeCoster of Chanute, Robert Milton Greve of Chanute, Sandra Denise Keough of Manhattan, Larry D. and Donna Greve of Mound Valley, and Jason Wayne and Hannah Greve of Chanute; 12 grandchildren, Angela DeMeritt, Shawn DeCoster, Steven DeCoster, Blaine Crellin, Dwayne Crellin, Tonya Greve, Tammy Greve, Nicholas Greve, Adam L. Greve, Lacey Kay Greve, Tristen Venita Greve, and Colten Charles Fritch; 15 great-grandchildren; one brother, Clifford Greer of Benton, Mo.; two sisters, Ruby Williams of Fredonia, and Roberta Harlow of Neodesha; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Wesley W. Greve, and one brother, Charles Greer.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 20 at the Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel in Chanute. Burial will follow in the Odense Cemetery.
The family will receive friends this evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorials in her name may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice and may be left with the funeral home.
