Blendina Mae Johnson, 87, of Chanute, died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.

Blendina was born on Dec. 13, 1924 in Independence, the daughter of Otis Alvah and Thelma Anna Jones Fields. She graduated from Independence High School and Independence Junior College.

She was united in marriage to Conrad Edward Johnson on August 23, 1946 in Chanute. He preceded her in death on April 18, 2008.

She was a homemaker and enjoyed playing the piano.

Blendina is survived by her children, Connie Sue Kinney and her husband, Carl, of Pahrump, Nev., Pamela Ann Nelson and her husband, Gerald, of Parkton, N.C.; and grandchildren, Ed Dill of Tulsa, Okla., Kenneth Nelson of McKinney, Texas, Laurie Nelson of Dallas, Texas, Sherry Wade of Omaha, Neb., and Michael Nelson of Copperas Cove, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Conrad, a sister, Betty Fields, and a brother, Samuel Myrl Fields.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 30 at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 1 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Gibson Chapel.

Memorials in her name may be made to Parkview Holiness Church and may be left with the funeral home.
