Donald D. Kemp, 86, a resident of Neodesha, died Friday, Nov. 23, 2012, at Wilson Medical Center in Neodesha. He was born March 27, 1926 in Elk City, the son of Harry Allen and Hazel May Linthicum Kemp. Donald served in the United States Army Air Corps 1942-1945. In 1947, Donald began his career as a sheet metal worker for Harry Higgins. Throughout the next 30 years, he worked for Kelly Plumbing in Neodesha and for Huxtable & Assoc. in Chanute, where he spent two years working at Wolf Creek Nuclear Power Plant in Burlington.
On July 31, 1945 in Phoenix, Ariz,, Donald was united in marriage to Helen Louise McClure of Neodesha. She survives, at the home.
Survivors include a son, Larry Kemp of Neodesha; a daughter, Linda Miller of Neodesha; three grandchildren, including Matt Miller of Chanute; three great-grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place and no services are planned. A memorial has been established in Donald’s name with the American Cancer Society and contributions may be left at or sent to the funeral home. Words of condolence for the family may be sent to www.timmonsfuneralhome.com
