Julia Helen Blattner, 94, of Frontenac , formally of Humboldt, died on Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012, at Girard Medical Center.

Julia was born in Humboldt on Oct. 13, 1918. She was the daughter of Robert William and Grace Ledean Andruss Hamm.

She attended Crescent Elementary in Humboldt and graduated from Humboldt High School in 1936. She later attended Iola Jr. College and graduated from Kansas State University in 1940. She taught school in Barnard for two years where she met her husband, Ralph “Bill” Blattner. They married on June 1, 1941 at the Humboldt United Methodist Church and were married for 70 years. He preceded her in death on Dec. 7, 2011.

She was a homemaker and teacher for the Humboldt School System. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Humboldt, Chapter AM P.E.O., Allen County Hospital Auxiliary, and bridge club.

She is survived by two daughters, Janice Campbell and husband, Roland, of Frontenac, and Margaret Cinotto and her husband, Gary, of Olathe; five grandchildren, Mark Muninger of Florence, Ala., Suzanne Simpson of Girard, Julia Kilcullen of St. Peters, Mo., Jamie Cinotto of Overland Park, and Joseph Cinotto of Overland Park; 10 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, J. Robert Hamm of Lafayette, Colo.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one grandson, Brian Luedke, and two sisters, Doris Holmes and Kathleen Harrison.

A Memorial Service for her will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 3 at the United Methodist Church in Humboldt.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10 until 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Humboldt.

Memorials in her name may be made to the United Methodist Church in Humboldt and may be left with the funeral home.
