Thomas G. Rinehart, 94, of Humboldt, died Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, at his home.

Thomas was born Nov. 18, 1917, at Humboldt, the son of Edward H. and Mamie B. Nickell Rinehart. He grew up in Humboldt and helped on the family farm along with working as an auto mechanic. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corp during WWII.

On Nov. 19, 1942, Thomas married Queen Eileen Powers and they made their home in Humboldt where he worked for Monarch Cement Company for 30 years, retiring in 1982.

Survivors include his wife of almost 70 years, Eileen Rinehart, of the home; a son, Johnny Lee Rinehart of Humboldt; three daughters, Sandra Sue Hamilton of Gridley, Peggy Jean Murrell of Neodesha, and Patricia Ann Millar of Chanute; 11 grandchidren and a number of great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Albert Lee and Lawrence Edward Rinehart and a sister, Lilly Fern Rinehart.

Cremation has taken place.

Memorial visitation is 6 to 7 p.m. this evening at the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola.

Inurnment will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Humboldt, at a later date.

Memorials are suggested to donor’s choice and may be left with the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapel of Iola.
