Leona Fern Robinson, 88, Wichita, formerly of Benedict, died Wednesday, Oct. 17 in Wichita. She was born August 18, 1924 in Virgil, the daughter of Jesse and Maude Saubers Moss.

Leona was a 1943 graduate of Buffalo High School, and married Jack Robinson on Dec. 23, 1943 in Wichita. The Robinson’s lived in Benedict 59 years until the passing of Jack on May 24, 2002, at which time Leona moved to Wichita to be near family.

Leona was baptized and a member of Benedict United Methodist Church. With the closure of that Church, she attended Buffalo Community Church. She was a homemaker, and was employed 11 years with the Fredonia School District at Paulen Elementary School from 1975 to 1986.

Survivors include a daughter, Norma Blevins of Wichita, a son, Rick Robinson of Wilmington, Del.; three grandsons and one granddaughter; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Cooper of Fredonia, and Gerry Elling of Toronto.

Funeral will be 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 22 at Timmons Funeral Home in Fredonia. Burial will be in Farmington Cemetery, north of Fredonia. Friends may call on Monday morning 8:30 a.m. until service time.
