Elizabeth Pauline Bailey, 89, Chanute, died Thursday, August 30, 2012 at the Chanute Health Care Center.

Elizabeth was born in Chanute on Sept. 11, 1922, the daughter of Lawrence and Gussie Izora Bean Burnett. She attended Chanute High School.

She was united in marriage to Eugene Bailey on Sept. 1, 1940 in Joplin, Mo. He preceded her in death on Feb. 16, 2012.

Elizabeth was a homemaker, and was a member of the Faith Bible Church.

Elizabeth is survived by her children, Larry Bailey and his wife, Sue, of Earlton, Mary Ediger and her husband. Leroy. of Baxter Springs, Regina Seltmann and her husband, Kemper, of Topeka, Patricia Roberts and her husband, Earl, of Chanute, and Jeffrey Bailey and his wife, Tammy, of Chanute; 24 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; and 33 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Eugene, a son, James Earl Bailey, and two sisters, Estella Bailey and Imah Taylor.

Funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 5, at the Faith Bible Church. Burial will follow in Earlton Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel in Chanute.

Memorials in her name may be made to Southern Care Hospice in Pittsburg and may be left with the funeral home.
