Robert James “Bob” Ehrman, 85, Owasso, Okla., went to be with his Lord on Monday evening, July 23, 2012 at his home. Bob was born August 22, 1926 at Chanute, to Harry H. and Bessie E. Duckworth Ehrman.

Bob was raised and received his education in Chanute. In 1944, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving honorably until his discharge in 1946. He served aboard the USS Wildcat and was a radio operator, stationed six months in the Philippines. He said his most vivid memory of the Navy was a typhoon they were caught in at sea. His last port of duty was Bikini Island in preparation for the atomic bomb test. Following his discharge, he received training at the TWA maintenance center in Kansas City.

On Nov. 12, 1964, Bob was united in marriage to Linna “Linn” Burchett in Tulsa. They moved to California, living there for 39 years, coming to Owasso in 2004. Bob had worked for McDonnell Douglas for 17 years and retired from Northrop Aerospace.

Bob was a member of the First Baptist Church of Collinsville, and enjoyed his computer and tinkering with different projects. In his early years, he built model airplanes.

Those who survive and hold many cherished memories are his wife, Linn, of the home; two sons, Eric Ehrman and wife, Holly, Renton, Wash., and Craig Ehrman and wife, Monica, Owasso; one sister, Juanita Alloway, Manhattan; and six grandchildren, Cody, Rachel, Rebecca, Madison, Hannah and Sarah Ehrman. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. today, July 27, 2012 in the Chapel of Mowery Funeral Service, Owasso, with Pastor Tim Prock of Collinsville First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at the Graceland Memorial Park Cemetery, Owasso. The family has requested that memorial contributions in Bob’s memory be made to: Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation – Cancer, 825 NE 13th Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73104.
