Claudine M. James, 88, Fredonia, died Saturday, July 21, 2012 at Golden Living Center in Fredonia. She was born Jan. 8, 1924 in Wichita, the daughter of Claude W. and Bertha M. Murdock Akin. Claudine was a graduate of Wichita North High School. She was a retired headstart teacher for the State of Missouri.
On Jan. 27, 1944 in Wellington, Claudine married Francis Sinclair James. He preceded her in death Dec. 21, 2004.
Claudine was a member of the Bible Baptist Church in Fredonia.
Claudine is survived by three nephews, Steve White, Omaha, Neb., Wallace White, Fredonia, and Curtis White, St. Thomas, Virgin Islands.
One son, Fred James, also preceded her in death.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Thursday, July 26 at Farmington Cemetery, north of Fredonia. A memorial has been established in Claudine’s name with the American Cancer Society and donations can be sent to Timmons Funeral Home, PO Box 168, Fredonia, KS, 66736.
